Mike signed with the PrairieThunder on Nov. 28, 2009 after beginning the season with the Erie Otters in the Ontario Junior Hockey League. He played eight games with the PrairieThunder at the end of the 2008-09 season, scoring one goal, before returning to the OHL.
He was named the Humanitarian of the Year for his community service work, the most determined player and earned the academic player award with Erie.
