PT falls at Muskegon

MUSKEGON, Mich. – Bloomington continued to find the going rough against Muskegon on Friday with a 7-1 loss in International Hockey League action before 2,889 people at L.C. Walker Arena.

 

The loss dropped Bloomington’s record to 20-18-2-4 and 46 points, while league-leading Muskegon moved to 31-10-0-3 (65 points). The teams meet again Saturday in Muskegon at 6p.m.

 

Robin Bouchard scored the first goal 53 seconds into the game off an assist by Todd Robinson. The Lumberjacks extended their advantage to 2-0 four minutes later on a Matt Robertson goal with assists to Mark Cody and Brian Bicek.

 

Bill Bagron cut the Bloomington deficit in half with a power play goal 7:12 into the second period off assists by Matt McIlvane and Justin Sawyer. Then it was all Muskegon as the Lumberjacks tallied three straight goals.

 

Jordan Little scored the first one with 7:31 left on assists by Bouchard and Robinson. JT Dahlinger found the net 74 seconds later on assists by Bicek and Robertson. Adam Welch then scored 43 seconds later on assists by Bicek and Dahlinger.

 

Little scored his second goal four minutes into the third period on a power play and David Rohlfs completed the Lumberjacks scoring four minutes later.

 

Sebastian Dahm started in net for Bloomington and took the loss. He was pulled midway through the second period after stopping 20 of 25 shots. Andrew Martin stopped 10 of 12 shots. Muskegon owned a 37-32 advantage in shots.
