Fundraising Ideas

The Bloomington PrairieThunder hockey team provides unique fundraising opportunities for non-profit organizations at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum during every home game during our season.

- Sell Tickets: Your organization can purchase a minimum of 20 tickets a discount price and resell the tickets at face value. Your organization will receive the difference in price. This option is great for however big or small your organization is. For more information please call an Account Executive at 309-585-0507 Ext. 304.

- Chuck-A-Puck: We have a non-profit organization sell Chuck-A-Pucks for $1 each and the organization receives 25% of what is sold. This requires a minimum of 4 people who must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to doors opening to the public. Selling stops after the second period ends. For availability please contact Allison Gronski at
Allison@prairethunderhockey.com
. Click HERE for complete Chuck-A-Puck details and requirments.

- 50/50 Raffle: The organization must provide at least 4 people to work the game and must arrive at least 30minutes before the doors open to the public. They will receive 25% of what they sell. The more people you have selling, the greater potential to make money for the non-profit. For more information or availability please contact Allison Gronski at  Allison@prairiethunderhockey.com. Click HERE for complete 50/50 Raffle details and requirments.

- Concessions: Through the food and beverage department, we offer the chance for non-profit organizations to work during hockey games, football games, family events, and concerts in our concession stands.  As a concession stand worker you will be serving food and alcoholic beverages to our customers.  We do require that anyone who works as a cashier be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol and anyone who works as a prep cook be at least 18 years of age.  As compensation for your time spent working in one of our concession stands, you will earn 10% of net food sales and 8% of net alcohol sales for the concession stand that you work for that particular event.

To participate in this program, we require proof of liability insurance for your organization before you are able to work an event.  The liability insurance can be purchased through any insurance provider and the details of this can be discussed further if your group is interested.

If your group is interested in this opportunity, please call Paul Grazar at 434-2932 or send an email to
paulgrazar@uscellularcoliseum.com.  Further information is provided below but if you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call.

Signing Up To Work an Event
We ask that you choose the events that you would like to work and let us know as soon as possible.  You may work as many events as you would like and as many stands as you have enough volunteers to staff.  Once you have signed up to work an event, we ask that you give us at least two weeks notice if you need to cancel so that we have time to find replacements to staff that stand for the evening.  You can send an e-mail to
paulgrazar@uscellularcoliseum.com or call 434-2932 to sign up for the events that you would like to work.

Duties
Cashier:  To take orders from the customers, relay the orders to the prep person, use the cash register to enter orders, handle money and make change, pour soda and alcohol, maintain clean work area, and help the stand manager at the end of the night with closing duties.   Cashiers are not allowed to hand food to the customers, this will be done by the prep person.

Prep:  To prepare food.  This would include making pretzels, scooping popcorn, making cheese cups, making nachos, and wrapping hamburgers and hotdogs.  The prep person fills the orders when they are relayed from the cashiers and hands the food to the customer.
